All Bambizi furniture has been made using responsibly sourced timber from forests with FSC certification. FSC certification guarantees that the forest is managed in such a way that its natural ecological balance is maintained. A forest that is responsibly managed and conserved should be able to produce timber indefinitely.
As people are starting to recognise the environmental impact of throwaway consumerism, they are turning again to more durable products.
Durability is at the heart of Bambizi’s philosophy. Our furniture is made with scrupulous attention to detail, and should last a lifetime. The old-school craftsmanship involved in its manufacture means that it can be readily repaired - rather than thrown away - in the unlikely event that this should ever prove necessary.
By producing high-quality, durable furniture, Bambizi will help to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill sites every year (20.9 million tonnes in 2009 in the UK alone). We reduce waste still further by blanket-wrapping all of our furniture when we deliver it to you.
Any piece of furniture that you buy will release chemicals into the air when you bring it home (‘offgassing’). While this isn’t necessarily harmful in itself, synthetic materials or those treated with synthetic substances can release chemicals that are toxic.
However, all Bambizi furniture is crafted with low-toxicity child-safe finishes, thus reducing your risk of coming into contact with potentially harmful VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds).
Much mass-produced furniture is manufactured and shipped for long distances, at considerable cost to the environment. When you buy Bambizi furniture and bedding, though, you can rest assured that it has not travelled far to reach you: many of our products, including our organic mattresses, are made within 50 miles of our showroom.
All our bedding is made from organic, fairtrade 220 thread count pima cotton.
